Cu ocazia celei de-a XXI-a edi\u021bii a Pie\u021bei Na\u021bionale de Ovine, desf\u0103\u0219urat\u0103 la Hotel Puerta de Segovia (Segovia, Spania) \u00een data de 24 mai 2024, Roberto Ruiz, cercet\u0103tor la NEIKER-BRTA, a participat pentru a vorbi despre sustenabilitatea ovinelor, principalele provoc\u0103ri \u0219i oportunit\u0103\u021bi, precum \u0219i pentru a prezenta obiectivele \u0219i rezultatele proiectului LIFE GREEN SHEEP. Astfel, a fost eviden\u021biat faptul c\u0103 actualul context al Schimb\u0103rilor Climatice impune ac\u021biuni urgente \u00een toate sectoarele pentru reducerea nivelului de emisii, inclusiv \u00een cre\u0219terea ovinelor. A fost eviden\u021biat\u0103 variabilitatea mare dintre turmele de oi at\u00e2t \u00een ceea ce prive\u0219te amprenta de carbon, c\u00e2t \u0219i importan\u021ba relativ\u0103 a diferitelor surse. Proiectul urm\u0103re\u0219te s\u0103 includ\u0103 schimb\u0103ri \u00een management care s\u0103 contribuie la atenuarea, dar \u0219i la \u00eembun\u0103t\u0103\u021birea sustenabilit\u0103\u021bii sistemelor (tehnico-economice, sociale \u0219i de mediu) \u0219i au fost prezentate c\u00e2teva exemple de practici inovatoare.
