On November 29, 2024, an information day was held in Nulvi (Province of Sassari, Sardinia, Italy) aimed at representatives of trade associations and reference institutions to present the state of the art of the Sardinian livestock and dairy supply chain. This was the first appointment which will be followed by further presentation initiatives aimed at all operators in the supply chain.
The meeting was attended by 65 people, including representatives of regional and local institutions, universities, research institutes, trade associations, brand protection consortia, producer cooperatives and farmers.
During the meeting, entitled « The Laore Sardinia Agency for the Dairy Supply Chain », speeches were held on animal welfare, technical assistance to livestock companies, sustainability, product analysis, data collection with the first reports for regional planning.
A space was dedicated to the presentation of the LIFE Green Sheep project, with a speech by Erika Bandino, member of the Laore project working group, who illustrated the aims of the project and the first results obtained from the survey carried out on demonstrative dairy sheep farms of Sardinia.
The meeting’s conclusions were held by the Councilor for Agriculture of the Sardinia Region, Gian Franco Satta.
