On March 12, 2025, a farm open day was held in Pauli Arbarei (Province of South Sardinia, Sardinia, Italy), organized by Laore Sardegna as part of the LIFE Green Sheep project.
The meeting, hosted by Carlo Lampis’ farm, one of the demonstrative sardinian dairy sheep farms, was attended by 42 people including technicians, advisors, farmers, teachers and researchers.
The following speeches were given during the open day:
– Giuseppe Tolu (Laore) brought greetings from the director Alessandro De Martini and introduced the topics of the open day;
– Roberto Fadda (Laore) presented the LIFE Green Sheep project;
– Erika Bandino (Laore) presented the host farm and the results of the survey conducted on the demonstrative farms in Sardinia;
– Maria Gabriella Serra and Marco Acciaro (Agris) presented the results of the survey conducted on the innovative farms in Sardinia;
– Francesco Cadeddu (Laore) illustrated the correct agronomic practices for a sustainable livestock farming;
– Fabio Fulghesu (Laore) talked about the correct use of pasture and feed for a better reproductive efficiency;
– Alberto Stanislao Atzori (University of Sassari) talked about the correct management of the flock and the replacement for an efficient reproductive management.
After the speeches, Carlo Lampis (farmer) guided the participants to the visit of the farm and illustrated the practices adopted for the reproduction management.
A buffet lunch concluded the farm open day.
