Neiker, the Basque Institute for Agricultural Research and Development, has a dairy sheep flock in Arkaute, Spain. There are around 130 adult Latxa sheep plus 45 ewe-lambs and is managed as a commercial flock within the breeding scheme of the local breed (Latxa).  The objective of the flock is to allow carrying out experiments and trials under controlled conditions but unbiased by productive or economic purposes. In addition, demonstration, innovation or dissemination activities to the sector are also implemented around the flock. Within the LIFE GREEN SHEEP project, it participates as an innovative flock. In this video Lourdes Mintegi, the manager of the flock, together with the researchers and one of the farmers, share their experience and results in the project.
